The Portland Mercury
Art Director From 2015-2020, I was Art Director at local media organization, The Portland Mercury. I led the visual direction by engaging with some of the most vital media-makers and cultural outlets in town, working with writers and artists to cover news and entertainment, producing original art and design for over 200 issues. 

I also helped concept, produce, and present a variety of events with the Mercury to explore how else the company could connect to readers, such as Weed the People, The I, Anonymous Show, Portland Burger Week, and HUMP! Film Fest.

This comic book was released with the tv show piloted by Kevin Smith. I designed the comic books published by Dark Horse Comics. I also created the logo for Forge of Destiny.


Adventure Brunches
Editorial Photoshoot

I concepted and executed this visual direction for a summer editorial issue on adventurous brunches, places where you could get a bite to eat with an alternate atmosphere. 

Bacon & Egg frolicked in farm fields, sizzled by the river, and enjoyed a full meal. The photos ran alongside photos of the top locations of 100 reviewed brunch spots.

Client: Dark Horse Comics Dark Horse Comics re-released the graphic novel crime series by Brian Michael Bendis. I designed new covers, title pages, chapter pages, and layout for the extended features at the back of the book. 


Dark Horse Comics
Product photography I photographed and edited collectibles for Dark Horse Deluxe marketing and packaging. The images are featured from all angles, removed from background, and also in close up for details. Figures are licensed by properties and are available for sale.

Life Begins at Incorporation

My role: Book designer

Date: 2013I worked with political cartoonist Matt Bors to design and self publish his collection of comics and essays Life Begins at Incorporation. This was my very first real book and I had an absolute blast learning the process.

I designed all the interior pages, including the special featured Rogue Gallery, lots of sidebars, exaggerated footnotes, embedded live tweets, and a super-savvy index.
